Cheese town of Alkmaar
Alkmaar is a historic city and is known as the cheese city of the Netherlands. Visit the Dutch Cheese Museum. In the historic Waaggebouw learn you everything about dairying. Every Friday morning from April / September there is the famous cheese market. St. Laurence Church, located in the downtown area, is the most visited monument of Alkmaar. Den Helder and the Kop van Noord-Holland
Daman is well known for its naval base and the boat that takes you to Texel. In 1811 Napoleon Bonaparte gave the order to build a fort in Den Helder, better known as Fort Kijkduin. In this city you will find the Marine Museum and the National Rescue Museum, where the Dutch sea rescue central. The secret Wadden island of Wieringen is worth a visit.
Volendam, Monnickendam, De Zaanse Schans
These three Dutch classics are tourist attractions. Volendam is of course known for its beautiful harbor and many Dutch artists. The city is known among boaters and has a beautiful harbor which are both modern and historic ships. Medemblik also has a beautiful historic center. Just like Hoorn Enkhuizen was also once a VOC city. You can see it during a visit to the beautiful historic Enkhuizen.
Amsterdam and Haarlem
Although Amsterdam and Haarlem about an hour's drive from Camping Callassande lie, we do not want you to remember this place. Amsterdam and Haarlem are very attractive cities to visit and each have significant attractions.
